The MR LATVIA team was proud to participate in EUROMAR 2025, held in Oulu, Finland, from July 6–11, 2025. As one of Europe’s premier conferences in magnetic resonance, EUROMAR provided a vital platform for showcasing research, sharing strategic insights, and fostering international collaboration.
MR LATVIA made a strong and visible contribution to the conference through a series of scientific and strategic activities.
🔬 Scientific Contributions
Poster Presentations:
- High-Resolution Solid-State NMR for Materials Characterisation in the Baltic Region
Author: Alvis Zvirgzdins - Development of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in Latvia
Oral Presentation:
🎤 Dr. Alons Lends delivered a high-impact talk titled:
Fast Magic-Angle Spinning Rates and Deuteration Solid-State NMR Spectroscopy to Study the Cell Walls of Pathogenic Fungi
🤝 Strategic Engagement & Community Building
In addition to scientific contributions, MR Latvia was actively engaged in broader strategic and collaborative discussions:
- External Advisory Board Meeting
The MR LATVIA Advisory Board convened in Oulu to assess the project's progress, evaluate future priorities, and provide recommendations on international positioning and sustainability. - MR LATVIA Satellite Event
This dedicated session brought together international partners and stakeholders to explore the challenges and long-term goals of magnetic resonance research in Latvia and Baltic States. Discussions focused on research infrastructure development, cross-border cooperation, and the integration of MR Latvia into European research networks.
🌍 Looking Ahead
EUROMAR 2025 reinforced the importance of collaboration and shared expertise in advancing the magnetic resonance field. We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with a vibrant international community and exchange ideas that will shape our centre’s future.
📍 We look forward to continuing this dialogue at EUROMAR 2026 in Gothenburg!
